Art and Design
These are some of my design projects done in core classes as well as pieces completed for my art minor or just for fun. Check out my Instagram @renee_elizaaabeth for current projects!
![]() Freshmen FlyerThis is a flyer made for the freshmen at UW-Stout to inform them about several key aspects of the Professional Communication and Emerging Media program. I made this in InDesign for my Capstone class. | ![]() Four Year Plan InfographicThis infographic was made to outline a four year plan for the Professional Communication and Emerging Media program for my Digital Storytelling class. | ![]() Key design and cut plasticThis was made for my Graphics Communication Management class. I used this template to cut out and engrave a small piece of plastic, which I made into a keychain. |

![]() Vinyl DesignFor my Graphic Communications Management class I had to create an original design that would be cut out of vinyl. This was made in Illustrator, and I had it on my laptop for several years. | ![]() Drawing 2 - Still LifeCharcoal and white pastel, both 24x36" My goal for these drawings was to get back in touch with perspective, use of materials and cast shadow. I focused on creating a sort of 'mirror effect' by drawing the front and back of the same objects. | ![]() Drawing 2 - Color 1 Still LifePastels, 16x24" My goal for this drawing was to use the objects to show a full space. I wanted to make a sense of "cluttered" depth from my perspective of this still life set up. |
![]() Drawing 2 - Color 2 Still LifePastels, 16x24" For this drawing I looked critically at space as it effected the objects I was drawing. This drawing was my favorite out of everything we did in the class, and I enjoyed using light to reflect off of and through objects. | ![]() Life Drawing - line and perceptionStrathmore Paper, 24x16"" This drawing called for only straight lines being used to complete it. I used charcoal and a ruler, and used lines to gauge proper perception between objects and the model. | ![]() Life Drawing - Line and EliminationStrathmore Paper, 16x16" Using only straight lines I had to capture the model and the objects around her as well as a scope of foreground, middle ground and background. I then took an eraser and created blanks between lines to imply space. |
![]() Life Drawing - Still Life SkeletonPaper, 24x36" I only used lines from a ruler again, and I had to pose the skeleton in a way that I could capture the general bone groupings and have it proportionally relate to its surroundings. | ![]() Painting 1 FinalOil Paint - 24x36" This project took several weeks to complete and was based off of three previous abstract paintings. | ![]() Drawing 1- BirdhouseStrathmore Paper, black and white charcoal, 16x24" This project's goal was to come up with a birdhouse, incorporate elements of spherical shapes, and add a bird. It was completely up to us as to what the theme and design could be, so I chose a nautical theme with a glass birdhouse covered in coral. |
![]() Drawing 1 - Object in SpaceStrathmore Paper, black and white charcoal, 16x24" This project had us choose one object and draw it in space repeatedly and from different angles. I chose a Pilot G-2 07 Pen. | ![]() Drawing 1 - Microscopic DrawingStrathmore Paper, black and white charcoal, 16x24" The main goal for this drawing called for us to choose an image of something at a microscopic level and draw it using the techniques we had learned during the semester. | ![]() Two-Dimensional Design - RepetitionBristol paper, Micron Pens and Sharpie, 11x14" This drawing involved me choosing several objects, in this case a mask and a watch necklace, and creating depth, space and repetition by layering the objects. |
![]() Turtle Ink DrawingSketchbook, Micron Pens - 9x12" I drew this on my own time to practice repetition and symmetry. | ![]() Micron Pen DesignSketchbook, Micron Pens - 9X12" Another design I worked on just for fun. Focused on straight lines and detail. |
