WORK IN COLLEGE
WORK AFTER GRADUATION

I am a graduate of UW-Stout with a major in Professional Communication and Emerging Media program with an applied field in Journalism (yes, it is a long way of saying I like to write). Keeping up with social media and news online is important to me, and I love learning about upcoming technologies and trends. I do a lot of art in my spare time and am happy to say I got a Fine Arts minor while completing my major.

I was a tutor at the UW-Stout Writing Center for 2 1/2 years and enjoyed the challenges and opportunities from that experience. Through that job I learned a great deal about editing and professionally helping others as well as a vast knowledge of multiple writing styles. I also held a Public Relations internship with the Tainter Menomin Lake Improvement Association in Menomonie, WI. We focused on environmental awareness and education to help the watershed in the area.

Prior to my current job as  communications specialist at an insurance company, I worked at the Northfield News and Faribault Daily News as their editorial assistant. I conducted interviews, edited, took photos, covered events, formed procedures for tasks, and worked on strengthening my writing abilities.

I hope to be able to incorporate the skills I have learned in both positions to further my career in communications.
